-
Lordship - a posture of heart continuously set on finding hope in experiencing life as Jesus desires it. To live under the Lordship of Christ, we must grow in self-awareness, resilience, and remain teachable. This is developed throughout the entirety of Nehemiah, with special focuses throughout Nehemiah 101.
-
Wisdom - the right application of knowledge and the ability to critically think and solve problems. More than ever, wisdom is needed in our world. As people of wisdom, not overly simplistic solutions, we believe this should mark Innovative Reconcilers who are sent. This is developed throughout the entirety of Nehemiah, with special focuses in Nehemiah 201.
-
Empathy - the stepping stone to embodying the compassion of Jesus. If we are going to be a people who make impact on this world, we must be known by our love. This is explicitly developed within the Empathy courses in Nehemiah.
-
Know and Tell - retelling God's story while living missionally. This is developed within the Story of God and Empathy classes.
-
Missional - know you are a steward of the gifts and talents God has given you. You are to participate in your meaningful work with excellence, honesty, and integrity, empowering others along the way. This is developed throughout the entirety of Nehemiah with a focus in Nehemiah 301.

NEHEMIAH 101
For those who are new to following Jesus, and for those who have been walking with Jesus for a long time, this phase is essential in its provision of tools needed to lay a firm foundation, or solidify your foundation on Christ - His story, His character and nature, His Word, His Spirit, His plans and purposes, and His love. A focus on developing firm foundations in faith, awareness, and relationship as well as unpacking Lordship and the ability to Know and Tell the Story of God occurs during this phase.

NEHEMIAH 201
Many find this phase the most challenging, yet the most transformational; and transformation is almost always messy. It is during this phase that we do the hard work of uncovering your “why”, connecting your head and heart, unpacking the role emotions play in our daily lives, processing self-awareness and its critical role in authenticity, and understanding what it means to love God, self, and others in a hurting and broken world. To do all this well is costly. Although it will be difficult, as Innovative Reconcilers, the tools we need to operate under the Lordship of Jesus, live a Missional life, Knowing and Telling the story of God with Empathy and Wisdom in every space and place we find ourselves are given in abundance in Phase 2. We urge you: stay open, stay honest, stay curious and compassionate, and stay on the Potter’s Wheel.

The Role of a Guide
-
Guides are Nehemiah Graduates who have been trained by Owners of Engage, and our Pastoral Care Director. They are present weekly to help you along your journey through Nehemiah. They are not trained therapists. But they are people who deeply love God, love His people, and want to see you unlocked to a greater measure, grow in your belief that you are loved by your Maker, practically embody integration and resilience, and address the pains that keep you from experiencing the Gospel of Jesus and the life He promised you most fully.
-
Please note, since we believe the Nehemiah Institute to be a transformative process, guides will challenge you along the way.
-
Guides are held to a higher standard due to the role they play in discipleship within Engage. Accountability is in place for them with our Engage Staff and Pastoral Care Director.

Is childcare provided?
-
Unfortunately at this time, childcare is not available. We are hoping a new building will provide us with the space necessary to offer this in the future.
Is there food?
-
While we do not serve dinner, light snacks and drinks available at the snack bar! You are free to bring dinner with you to class!
Is there a dress code?
-
We kindly request that all attendees come dressed appropriately. While there is no specific dress code, our building is can get pretty cold. Sweaters are encouraged.
Is there a cost?
-
Nope! Nehemiah for Engage Church is currently offered without cost to those local to Tallahassee, thanks to the generosity of those within Engage Church!
What if I start 101 + can't go straight into 201?
-
We understand that sometimes life gets a little busy. If you can't move right on, we'll make sure to keep you in the loop for upcoming cohorts so you can hop back in when you're ready. Please ensure to notify your Nehemiah Admin as we approach the end of each phase.
Is there an attendance policy?
-
Yes. Nehemiah is NOT like a regular Bible Study where you can come and go as you please. Content is built on itself. For this reason, we ask if you miss more than 3 classes, you retake the phase or wait until the next phase.
What are my next steps? How do I get registered?
-
You can use the button below to sign up for an upcoming Pop Up where you can hear more information about the upcoming Nehemiah Cohorts and get officially registered!
